1.0 Introduction: Big T, Bigger Funnel History
Teeka Tiwari — also known in filings and FINRA records as Teekachand (Richard) Tiwari, nickname “Big T” — spent years as one of the most recognizable voices in retail crypto newsletters. If you were online during the 2017–18 boom, you probably saw the aftershocks of a Palm Beach Confidential pick before you saw the fine print.
This review separates three things people constantly mash together:
- Historical Palm Beach Research Group products (Palm Beach Letter, Confidential, Venture, etc.) that were wound down with the publisher brand ~2024
- Current independent brands under Tiwari Research Group — notably The Asymmetric Edge and The Digital Asset Daily
- Public-record controversies (FINRA bar, colleague’s touting case, MarketWise conflict allegations, civil lawsuit) that deserve careful wording, not tabloid cosplay
If you’re here because a webinar promised “asymmetric” upside and a special report that will change your life by Thursday, slow down. Newsletter track records are marketing assets. Public dockets are not.
2.0 Who Is Teeka Tiwari?
Current self-description on Tiwari Research Group’s about page paints him as a former hedge fund manager / Wall Street executive / financial-news personality / crypto analyst, founder of Tiwari Research Group, publisher of The Digital Asset Daily, with an early Lehman / Shearson Lehman VP story and a foster-care youth narrative.
Secondary reporting (Protos, Stock Gumshoe, and others) sketches a career arc that looks more like: broker → regulatory sanction → newsletter publishing in the Agora / Common Sense / Palm Beach orbit → parting with MarketWise in February 2024 → independent newsletters and webinar funnels.
Two naming notes that matter for research hygiene:
- Marketing: Teeka Tiwari
- Court filings and BrokerCheck: Teekachand Tiwari / Teekachand Richard Tiwari, CRD #1995398
Sources: FINRA BrokerCheck / AWC, SEC 8-K exhibit letter, Justia docket 1:24-cv-02354, official current sites. Allegations stay labeled as allegations.
3.0 Current Offers (What You Can Actually Buy Now)
Do not treat “Palm Beach Confidential” as a live subscribe button attached to Teeka at Palm Beach Research Group. That publisher brand is historical. What’s public as of this research:
| Item | Status | What it is | Notes (fact-labeled) |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Asymmetric Edge | Current | Paid monthly research / model portfolio / sell alerts | theasymmetricedge.com; promo ~$99/yr reported in teaser coverage — confirm live checkout |
| Digital Asset Daily | Current | Free/content hub + funnel under Tiwari Research Group | tiwariresearchgroup.com |
| Webinar / “Project” events | Current lead-gen | Direct-response teasers into paid research | Not the core product; front-end urgency machine |
| Palm Beach Confidential / Letter / Venture | Historical | Former PBRG titles (Confidential historically high-ticket) | Publisher brand wound down ~2024 — do not sell as live Teeka@PBRG |
| FINRA bar (2005) | Public record | Personal regulatory sanction | AWC C10050031 — bar from member-firm association |
| Mikula / Palm Beach Venture | Colleague case | SEC/DOJ touting-for-pay case | Tiwari not charged in available DOJ materials reviewed |
| MarketWise DeFi letter | Employer allegation | Independence / consulting conflict claims | SEC-filed Stansberry letter (Feb 2024) |
| MarketWise v. Tiwari | Civil allegation | Subscriber-list / trade-secret style suit | 1:24-cv-02354 — check docket for current status |

3.1 The Asymmetric Edge
theasymmetricedge.com is the current paid research brand edited by Teeka (“Big T”). Public member-area framing includes welcome materials, special reports, a model portfolio (“Big T’s Asymmetric Edge Portfolio”), monthly issues, video updates, sell alerts, and portfolio updates.
Content tilt in recent teasers has leaned toward AI / blue-chip equity themes (affiliate coverage of “Nvidia Paycheck Program”-style funnels), not only crypto moonshots. Green Bull Research has reported a promotional offer around $99 for 12 months — treat that as a promo price, not a guaranteed evergreen retail rate.
3.2 The Digital Asset Daily / Tiwari Research Group
tiwariresearchgroup.com functions as a free/content hub (“demystifying cryptocurrency…”) that funnels attention into paid research. LinkedIn activity under Teeka’s name has continued into 2026 with tokenization / crypto-macro essays. Useful for brand presence; not a substitute for audited performance.
3.3 Webinar / “Project” lead gen
Recurring direct-response events — examples covered by affiliate and review sites include “Big T’s Countdown to Crypto Panic,” “Project 938,” and similar — typically exist to front a paid subscription rather than stand alone as the product. If the webinar feels like a late-night infomercial with better graphics, that’s not an accident. It’s the business model.
4.0 Historical Palm Beach Products (Former — Label Them That Way)
Palm Beach Research Group (Delray Beach area; under the MarketWise / Legacy Research / Common Sense Publishing structure) was the home of multiple titles. Approximate historical pricing from third-party coverage — useful context, not current checkout pages:
- Palm Beach Letter — entry-level funnel letter; often cited ~$49–$129/year in promo reviews
- Palm Beach Confidential — flagship crypto picks letter; historically reported as high as roughly $5,000–$10,000/year; associated with the short-term “Teeka effect” in 2017–18
- Palm Beach Venture — private/pre-IPO / OTC-style deals letter; later central to the Mikula touting case (~$2,500/year in older Stock Gumshoe coverage)
- Crypto Income Quarterly — “tech royalties” pitch; Master the Crypto documented a joining fee around $2,000 plus $249/quarter
- Palm Beach Crypto Trader and other affiliate-listed titles — confirm before citing as current; many are discontinued or rebranded
Writer rule (and reader rule): if a review still sells you “Palm Beach Confidential from Teeka at PBRG” as if the storefront is open, the review is stale or lazy.
5.0 Claims, Praise, and the Performance Problem
Common marketing claims include early Bitcoin (~$400) and Ethereum (~$9) recommendation lore, “most trusted crypto expert” language (the about page’s “130,000 independent analysts voted” line is unverifiable as stated), and aggressive income framing in older Crypto Income Quarterly funnels.
Praise, fairly stated: Tiwari built one of the most recognizable retail crypto newsletter brands of 2017–2021. Long-time fans and corners of crypto Twitter still credit early BTC/ETH narrative calls. He continues to attract webinar/teaser traffic in 2025–2026 affiliate coverage. Brand recognition is real.
The skeptical ledger: Protos documented that Confidential picks could move markets in the short term while many 2017–18 altcoin recommendations later sat near all-time lows. Short-term pumps are not long-term track records. Stock Gumshoe and others have long criticized over-the-top private-deal and crypto promotions. WallStreetZen summarized BBB-style subscriber anger around the Palm Beach wind-down (credits vs. cash refunds, poor ratings) — relevant to the old publisher experience, not automatically proof of how new entities handle refunds.
If someone sells you a newsletter with only winners and no graveyard, they are either lying or selectively remembering. Demand both.
6.0 Controversies & Public Record (Read This Without the Pitchfork Soundtrack)
This section is where careless writers become defendants and careful writers become useful. Four distinct buckets:
6.1 FINRA bar (2005) — Tiwari’s own historical sanction
BrokerCheck CRD #1995398 shows a NASD/FINRA AWC (C10050031), resolution date 2005-05-09. Allegations (consented without admitting or denying) involved private securities transactions away from the member firm (Hawthorne Hathaway Partners, L.P.), failure to disclose outside business activities, and failure to appear for an on-the-record interview. Sanction: bar from associating with any FINRA member firm in any capacity.
Primary sources exist: FINRA’s AWC PDF and BrokerCheck individual files. This is not a rumor blog. It is also a 2005 securities-industry bar — relevant context for trust, not a 2026 criminal indictment, and not a substitute for evaluating a newsletter’s current content quality.
6.2 Palm Beach Venture / Jonathan Mikula (colleague case)
Former Palm Beach Venture analyst Jonathan William Mikula was charged by the SEC (civil) and later the DOJ (criminal) for touting securities for undisclosed compensation. DOJ materials describe more than $4.2 million in undisclosed payments/entertainment in the broader scheme.
Important: based on DOJ materials and coverage reviewed for this article, Teeka Tiwari was not named as a criminal defendant in that case. Guilt-by-newsletter-brand is not due process. Still, if you paid for Venture-era deal flow, you are allowed to ask hard questions about diligence culture inside that product line.
6.3 MarketWise / Porter Stansberry letter (Feb 2024) — employer allegations
An SEC 8-K exhibit letter from MarketWise chairman Porter Stansberry states that after the Mikula charges, the company learned Tiwari had a consulting agreement with DeFi Technologies Inc. and received compensation from parties that owned shares in companies he recommended on four occasions — described as violating contract/policy on independence. The letter criticizes Legacy managers for not terminating him promptly / alerting subscribers, says reputation was “irrevocably damaged,” and describes the decision to wind down Legacy Research.
Subscriber communications around that period stated they had “parted ways with Teeka.” Treat the Stansberry letter as a primary public allegation from the former publisher, filed with the SEC — serious, specific, and still an employer’s account of events.
6.4 MarketWise v. Tiwari (Aug 2024) — civil lawsuit
Case: Marketwise, LLC et al. v. Tiwari et al., U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, 1:24-cv-02354, filed 2024-08-13. Defendants named include Teekachand Tiwari and Paddington Square, LLC. Complaint summaries/PACER excerpts describe allegations of unauthorized access/use of subscriber lists after separation (~Feb 1, 2024) to solicit for competing publications, plus trademark/trade-secret type claims.
These are civil allegations. Check current docket status (motions, settlement, judgment) before treating any outcome as final. “Sued” is not “convicted,” and “alleged” is not optional filler — it’s the legally accurate word.
7.0 Who Might Still Subscribe — And Who Shouldn’t
Maybe a fit if: you already understand newsletter research is entertainment-grade idea generation, you can afford to lose what you risk on speculative ideas, and you want Teeka’s current Asymmetric Edge / Digital Asset Daily framing with eyes open about history.
Hard pass if: you need a regulated advisor relationship, you can’t stomach FINRA-bar + publisher-conflict context, you confuse webinar urgency with due diligence, or you’re still trying to buy “Palm Beach Confidential” like it’s 2018.
Practical checklist before any checkout:
- Confirm the current legal entity and product name on the order form
- Screenshot pricing, renewal terms, and refund policy
- Ask whether recommendations include issuers with any consulting/compensation relationships
- Assume promo pricing ($99-style teasers) may not match renewal pricing
- Never size a position because a newsletter headline used the word “asymmetric”
8.5 Honest Unemployable Compare
Market newsletters sell ideas about assets (crypto, AI equities, “asymmetric” teasers). You pay for research packaging and still take the market risk. Unemployable is about owning local lead assets — niche sites that can send organic leads to local businesses (rank-and-rent). Different skill stack, different failure modes, different daily work.
| Teeka-style market newsletters | Unemployable | |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Paid research / webinar funnels about tickers & themes | Local SEO / rank-and-rent lead sites |
| How you get paid | You still need markets (or flips) to cooperate | Monthly rent from local businesses for leads |
| Main risk | Speculative performance + disclosure/trust history | Ranking, niche selection, client retention |
| Traffic | Email list + paid/affiliate promo machine | Organic Google (and Maps when it fits) |
| Price vibe | Promo teases then renewals / upsells | $2,980 lifetime, shown up front |
| Best if you want… | Speculative idea flow with eyes open | A boring digital asset that can collect rent |
8.0 Verdict
Teeka Tiwari remains a skilled direct-response operator with genuine historical influence in retail crypto media. The current stack — Asymmetric Edge + Digital Asset Daily + webinar funnels — is a rebranded continuation of a career built on speculative research subscriptions, not a clean-slate reinvention of trust.
The public record is heavier than the average “guru review” can shrug off: a 2005 FINRA bar; a colleague’s touting scandal inside a Palm Beach product line; a MarketWise SEC-filed letter alleging independence violations tied to DeFi Technologies consulting; and a 2024 civil suit over subscriber-list allegations. None of that requires inventing crimes. The documents are public. Read them.
Our take: interesting as a case study in newsletter-industry power and collapse; high-friction as a blind trust purchase. If you subscribe, do it as a skeptical consumer with position-sizing discipline — not as a disciple.
9.0 If You Want Income That Isn’t Married to Markets or Hype Cycles
Crypto letters and equity “paycheck” teasers live and die on market narratives. That’s the product. If you’re shopping guru reviews because you’re tired of income that depends on the next panic webinar or the next AI ticker, consider a different model entirely.
Unemployable.org focuses on local SEO and rank-and-rent lead-gen sites — building small niche websites that send leads to local businesses. It’s not a crypto newsletter. It’s not farm coaching. It’s not “asymmetric alpha.” It’s a business model aimed at digital assets and local demand instead of speculative market timing. If that sounds boring in a good way, start there.
