Sketchbook Studio Review: Lisa Short’s $7 Skool For Abandoned Sketchbooks, $15 And $33 Course Ladders, A Printed 7-Day Trial, And A Perfect 5.0 From One Native Review With No Refund Sentence

Lisa Short, founder of Sketchbook Studio, official Skool avatar in a TEACHERS ROCK tee
Lisa Short. Official Skool avatar from @lisa-short-2102, reused on a Sketchbook Studio landing still. Curly auburn hair, black glasses, silver hoops, heart pendant, black TEACHERS ROCK / ABCD tee, paintbrushes and a module workbook, watercolor wash and bird-of-paradise behind her. Photographed person, not an AI face. Not the rainbow-hair cartoon on the group cover. Source: skool.com/everyday-artist-studio-7087.

Lisa Short is a licensed Indiana K-12 art teacher who sells empty-sketchbook rehab for seven dollars a month. Then /plans adds $15 and $33.

Handle @lisa-short-2102. Time zone America/Indianapolis. Last name is on the official Skool. Same human as The Primary Palette on Facebook and Instagram @theprimarypaletteofficial. Same human as Outschool’s Mrs. Lisa Short. The kids classes are a different checkout. Do not flatten those into one tuition.

The official avatar is a real photo. Curly auburn hair. Black glasses. TEACHERS ROCK / ABCD tee. The group cover is a rainbow-hair cartoon drawing a dragon. Those are not the same picture. Do not treat the cartoon like a headshot.

That’s the person. Here’s the pitch, in her mouth, before I start throwing receipts.

Welcome to The Sketchbook Studio. For beginner and returning artists who are tired of staring at a blank page and wondering what to practice next. If you start sketchbooks and abandon them, jump between random tutorials, or feel like your art never really improves, you’re not the problem. You just don’t have a simple, repeatable plan. Experiment → Practice → Create → Reflect. Weekly prompts, monthly challenges, step-by-step lessons, targeted skill exercises, a community that actually wants to see your pages. New: a Personalized Learning Plan for each member. I’m Lisa, a licensed art teacher with 18 years of experience and 9,000+ students taught. I built this space so hobby artists can finally feel proud of their progress. Start your 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime.

The card line: stop collecting empty sketchbooks and start filling one. Daily prompts and real lessons build real skills. You CAN create again.

I still have three blank sketchbooks I bought because the clerk said the paper was “archival.” You think I’m treating 9,000+ students like a district audit?

Read on for my Lisa Short / Sketchbook Studio review.

What you’re actually clicking: a public-sticker hobby Skool, not a sales-call closer. Live August 15, 2026: skool.com/everyday-artist-studio-7087 is $7/month on Discover (rank 61, page 3) and in live JSON (142 members). Created 2026-01-27 UTC. Official /plans also sells $15/month Premium and $33/month VIP. All three buttons say TRY FOR FREE. Printed 7-day trial. No refund sentence. Tiers created 2026-08-01, about six months after the room. Native reviews: 1 at 5.0. Not Sketchbook Skool. Not Patchogue. Not Silver Clay with Lisa.

Who even is Lisa Short?

One founder on the live Skool. Public name: Lisa Short. First name Lisa, last name Short. About copy says “I’m Lisa.” Outschool says Mrs. Lisa Short, Licensed K-12 Art Teacher. Facebook page title: The Primary Palette with Lisa Short. Do not invent a middle name. Do not invent a school district. Indianapolis is a timezone, not a verified studio. Location field on Skool is blank.

She joined Skool January 1, 2026. The room landed January 27. Twenty-six days later. Live bio: “Expert art instructor with 18 years of teaching and 9,000+ students, helping artists gain confidence in drawing.” Myers-Briggs INTJ. Platform this pass: 239 followers, 24 following, 870 contributions, 1 created group. Website, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube fields blank. No crown. No clover. Public memberships list: Skoolers only. totalGroups says 19. I am not inventing the other 17 as rooms she owns.

Teaching bio, hers: licensed art teacher, 18 years, 9,000+ students. Outschool headline: 9,600 students, private art school owner, 18+ years public school, university guest lecturer, “highly effective,” 7 juried exhibitions. Two degree wordings on her own Outschool pages: B.S. in K-12 Visual Art Education, and a Bachelor’s in Fine/Studio Arts from University of Southern Indiana. USI art faculty roster this pass does not list her as faculty. Guest-lecturer venue unnamed. Private art school unnamed. Self-reported, not audited. 9,000 versus 9,600 is their drift. I did not pull a license number.

Content brand: The Primary Palette. Their Facebook intro also spells it “The Primary Pallete Art School.” Their typo. Ages 5-99. The page links both Outschool and the Skool. Landing still prints a circular Primary Palette mark. Facebook chrome this pass: 352 followers, Page · Art School, not yet rated. Instagram login-walled. No public founder email. Join survey asks for an email for “occasional updates.” Member intake, not a printed address. No LLC, Indiana SOS, or EIN printout this pass. No entity named Sketchbook Studio or The Primary Palette found for this person. The $7 room is a new community, not an 18-year classroom transplanted wholesale.

Do not mash the logins

People see “Sketchbook Studio” and assume every pencil room on the internet is this password. It is not.

Sketchbook Studio is the review target. Private paid Skool at skool.com/everyday-artist-studio-7087. Created January 27, 2026 UTC. Owner @lisa-short-2102. Join on Skool. No sales call. 1 admin. 579 posts this pass. 16 courses / 74 modules in platform metadata. Titles login-walled. I cannot audit the inside from the sidewalk. Tabs on: classroom, calendar, map. Audio-chat off. Pixel off. Hobby plan. Stripe descriptor P.SKOOL.COM/RJYZQ.

The Primary Palette is the content brand, not a second tuition. Facebook plus IG @theprimarypaletteofficial. No separate public course sticker on Facebook this pass. Do not invent one. Outschool kids classes are a parallel SKU. Same founder. Same 18-year / 9,000-student line. Different checkout. Teacher page this pass: 5.0 from 6 reviews, 9 classes completed, “New on Outschool.” Stickers $5 to $12 a class, $9.60/week or $48 for a kindergarten pack. Ages 5-16. Do not write a kids’ classroom as the $7 adult join.

Wrong studios. Sketchbook Skool is Danny Gregory and Koosje Koene. Off-Skool. BBB is Sketchbook Skool LLC, Phoenix. Name mash only. Patchogue Sketchbook Studio is Meg Healy, Long Island, $35 / $80. Autodesk Sketchbook is an app. Silver Clay with Lisa is already live here: Lisa S / Veter Atelier, UK jewellery, $19. Different Lisa. Artist Bootcamp at viral-blueprint-1835 sat on the same Discover list: 158 / $9, music. Zero drawing. Friendly Scribblers is Canva / Etsy paper goods. Christian Crafting Community is faith DIY. Pre-K Prep Club is a different login. Do not mash it onto Lisa because she is a teacher.

Same aisle, different cash register: Sketch Club with Marty ($19), Messy Art Squad ($5), Brave Artist ($1). Category neighbors. Not sister brands.

The $7 is Foundations. The locker is $15 and $33.

If you came here because the about page sold you weekly prompts, monthly challenges, step-by-step lessons, skill exercises, and a Personalized Learning Plan, read the /plans page before you feel clever.

About markets the whole stack at the $7 sticker. Cover still: giant $7, BEST PRICE, “YOU CAN CREATE AGAIN.” Landing still: “JOIN OVER 140 ARTISTS LEARNING TOGETHER.” Roadmap still and a Module 2 Foundations laptop mock are owner-designed. Not a live catalog scrape.

Official /plans, August 15, 2026, is the consumer-protection line. Standard $7/month: discussion forum and community, 50 sketchbook prompts, daily sketchbook challenges, Art Foundations Course and Artist Tool Kit, 7-day sketchbook reboot, 7-day free trial. Premium $15/month: everything in Standard, plus Skill Application Basics, Core Skills, and a Color Theory mini-lesson. VIP $33/month: everything in Standard and Premium, plus ALL Sketchbook Studio modules, monthly art challenge, and a Reveal Day Call. Personalized Learning Plan is not a /plans bullet this pass. Core Skills and Color Theory sit on Premium. The Reveal Day Call sits on VIP.

The room is older than the ladder by about six months. For most of its life the public sticker was a single $7. Date the copy. Confirm on publish day.

The trial is printed. The refund is a ghost.

About prints a 7-day free trial and cancel anytime. Group JSON: freeTrialEnabled: 1. Plans: TRY FOR FREE plus “7-Day Free Trial” on all three tiers. That sentence exists. A refund sentence does not.

No Sketchbook Studio refund TOS found. No marketing-site terms found. theprimarypaletteofficial is an Instagram handle, not a TOS host. Skool Help: refunds are the creator’s policy. Cancel is not a refund. If you cancel after the trial, Skool-default is access through the period. Platform default, not her sentence. Do not invent a money-back. One star, one body, no Reddit

No Kyle video, Trustpilot, Reddit, BBB, lawsuit, or FTC file for this SKU this pass. Say none found. Do not recycle generic “Skool scam” threads or Sketchbook Skool course reviews as her file. The usual locker directories had no Sketchbook Studio listing this pass.

What exists: Skool native reviews. 1 review, 5.0 average, fetched August 15, 2026. Public payload: 1 object. hasMore: false. Debbie Hiscock (@debbie-hiscock-9335), 5 stars, August 12, paying since July 12, Southampton, UK. She likes the daily challenge where everyone draws that day’s subject, and she calls Lisa’s classroom friendly and full of resources. Debbie’s own Skool bio: animal colored-pencil via pawsandpencilsart.co.uk. A fellow art-membership owner, not a random hobbyist. Fine to quote. Do not import her shop as this file. She was already paying before the August 1 ladder. n = 1 versus 142. A 5.0 on 1 is platform math. Landing “JOIN OVER 140 ARTISTS” and a 10-drawing “real wins” grid are owner-selected stills, not audited student results. Outschool’s 5.0 from 6 is the kids SKU.

Who this is for (and who should skip)

This is for you if:

  • You abandon sketchbooks, $7 is money you can lose for a month, and you will use the printed 7-day trial
  • You want a licensed K-12 teacher hosting a hobby room, and you can live with 18 years / 9,000+ as hers
  • You read /plans and you know $7 is Foundations, $15 is Core Skills and Color Theory, $33 is the locker plus Reveal Day

Skip if:

  • You thought this was Sketchbook Skool (Danny), Patchogue’s Sketchbook Studio (Meg), Silver Clay with Lisa, Artist Bootcamp, Friendly Scribblers, Christian Crafting, or Pre-K Prep Club
  • You wanted the Outschool kids classes. Those are $5 to $12 a session, ages 5-16, different checkout
  • You need a published refund window. They published a 7-day trial and cancel anytime
  • You thought the about page’s Personalized Learning Plan and “all the lessons” were inside the $7 envelope. /plans says otherwise

Verdict?

Lisa Short is a real licensed Indiana K-12 art teacher who opened a $7 sketchbook Skool 26 days after joining the platform, branded it as The Primary Palette, and added a $15 / $33 course ladder about six months later. The $7 sticker is on Discover, about, the owner profile, and a giant cover seal. The $15 and $33 are on /plans. The 7-day trial is printed. The refund is not. 18 years, 9,000 versus 9,600, private art school, guest lecturer, 7 juried shows, and “highly effective” are hers. 142, 146, 145, and “140+” can all live in the same week because indexes like a stale number and marketing likes a round one.

Not a scam per se. I didn’t find a courtroom, a Trustpilot pile, a Reddit wake, or a Kyle video. I found a cheap hobby classroom with a real teacher photo, a printed trial, a missing refund sentence, one five-star review from a fellow art-membership owner, and an about page that sells the stack while /plans gates the locker. Useful if you want prompts and a Foundations course. Seven dollars is a coffee. The fight is whether the coffee is a daily challenge or every module plus a Reveal Day Call.

I’m good.

Q&A

Q: Is Lisa Short legit?
A: Real person. Real Skool at @lisa-short-2102 since January 1, 2026. Real last name on the official profile. Real TEACHERS ROCK headshot. Same human as The Primary Palette and Outschool’s Mrs. Lisa Short. Licensed K-12, 18 years, 9,000+ / 9,600 students, private art school owner, university guest lecturer, 7 juried exhibitions: self-reported. No district named. No license number pulled. Legit $7 hobby operator. Spicy brochure on the résumé. Those can both be true. Not Lisa S of Silver Clay. Not Meg Healy. Not Danny Gregory.

Q: How much does Sketchbook Studio cost?
A: Official August 15, 2026: $7/month Standard on Discover, about, homepage, and the owner profile. Official /plans also sells $15/month Premium and $33/month VIP. TRY FOR FREE on each. Live count is 142. Created 2026-01-27 UTC. About 6.5 months. Tiers appeared August 1, 2026. Confirm on publish day.

Q: What’s the difference between $7, $15, and $33?
A: $7 Standard is the forum, 50 prompts, daily challenges, Art Foundations plus toolkit, and a 7-day reboot. $15 Premium unlocks Skill Application Basics, Core Skills, and Color Theory. $33 VIP unlocks all modules plus the monthly art challenge and Reveal Day Call. About still markets weekly prompts, monthly challenges, lessons, skill exercises, and a Personalized Learning Plan at the $7 card. That plan is not a /plans bullet this pass.

Q: Annual?
A: Billing JSON has annual SKUs at $67 / $140 / $316. About 20 to 22 percent off the monthly math. Not printed as a savings claim this pass. Public /plans printed monthly plus TRY FOR FREE. The annual toggle was not screenshot-confirmed. Confirm on publish day. Do not write $67 as the live porch sticker.

Q: 142, 146, 145, or 140+?
A: Live about, homepage, JSON totalMembers, Discover card, and owner profile: 142 on August 15, 2026. Same-day indexes: 146 and 145 / $7. Landing still: “JOIN OVER 140 ARTISTS.” Same neighborhood. Indexes are stale. 142 in six and a half months is the live fact. Do not invent a viral story.

Q: Is Sketchbook Studio a scam?
A: No regulator hammer, lawsuit, BBB, Trustpilot, or Reddit pile for this SKU this pass. I found a $7 / $15 / $33 sticker, a printed 7-day trial, no refund TOS, one five-star native review, and an about-versus-/plans gap. Thin receipts is not a fake company. Don’t flatten those.

Q: Refund?
A: No Sketchbook Studio refund TOS found. About: 7-day free trial, cancel anytime. Plans: TRY FOR FREE. Skool Help: cancel is not a refund. Do not invent a money-back. Do not import Patchogue or Outschool.

Q: What’s actually inside?
A: About promises the method, the prompts, the lessons, and a Personalized Learning Plan. /plans is the $7 / $15 / $33 gate. Metadata: 16 courses, 74 modules, 579 posts, 1 admin, one Loom (~2:43). Titles beyond Foundations / Module 2 / Module 6 are login-walled. I did not invent a syllabus.

Q: Sketchbook Skool? Patchogue? Silver Clay? Artist Bootcamp?
A: No. Sketchbook Skool is Danny Gregory and Koosje Koene. Patchogue is Meg Healy, Long Island, in-person. Silver Clay with Lisa is Lisa S / Veter Atelier, already reviewed here. Artist Bootcamp on that Discover list is a $9 music room. Friendly Scribblers is Canva / Etsy paper. Christian Crafting is faith DIY. Pre-K Prep Club is a different teacher login. Do not mash it onto Lisa because she has a license.

Q: Native reviews?
A: One. Debbie Hiscock, 5.0, August 12, 2026, paying since July 12. Daily challenge, friendly classroom, get the book out. She also sells an animal colored-pencil membership. n = 1 versus 142. Platform math. Outschool’s 6 teacher reviews are the kids SKU.

Q: How do I stalk her like a normal person?
A: Skool skool.com/everyday-artist-studio-7087. Profile @lisa-short-2102. Plans /plans. Facebook The Primary Palette with Lisa Short. IG @theprimarypaletteofficial. Outschool Mrs. Lisa Short. Don’t Baby Reindeer the woman. Trial it like an adult or don’t.

Q: Okay but I still wanna make money online without paying an Indiana art teacher $7 to rehab a blank page.
A: Wild concept: build little local websites, rank them in Google, and rent the leads to real businesses. No daily prompt. No Reveal Day Call. No Personalized Learning Plan that isn’t on /plans.

It’s about as sexy as organizing the junk drawer… which is why filthy SEO goblins like me keep doing it.

If that quieter path sounds less insane than a six-month-old $7 sketchbook room with a two-week-old ladder, start at unemployable.org.
