CapCut Creator Bootcamp Review: $9, A Moving $50 Cliff, And The Editor Who Is Not CapCut

Bryan Tiau, owner of CapCut Creator Bootcamp and TikTok editor @edie.edit, official Skool profile portrait in a grey blazer
Bryan Tiau. Official Skool profile photo, @shuen-tiau-6476. Grey blazer, gold pendant, studio grey. The public account picture. Not ByteDance. Not CapCut Mastery on Mobile.

The cover still says 400+ CREATORS INSIDE.

The counter, August 15, 2026, says 1,101.

The about page still says ten founding spots left at nine dollars, and once they hit 1,100 the price goes to fifty. Forever. Lock it in.

They already hit 1,100. The price is still nine.

That’s the room. CapCut Creator Bootcamp on Skool. Owner name: Bryan Tiau. Handle: @shuen-tiau-6476. The only website field on the profile is TikTok @edie.edit. Display name over there: Edie. Bio, via Toklytics: follow for weekly editing hacks, plus a collab inbox with a dotted ı in the gmail so the scrapers choke. Timezone on the Skool account: Pacific/Auckland. No .com. No YouTube field. No Instagram field. No LinkedIn field. Just a $9 CapCut classroom that keeps moving the “founding member” cliff and then… doesn’t hike.

CapCut Creator Bootcamp sounds like ByteDance opened a summer camp and left the door unlocked.

It is not CapCut. Not ByteDance. Not the app billing you for Pro. A third-party Skool from an Auckland-timezone TikTok editor who wants nine dollars a month to teach you cuts.

Here’s the pitch. In their mouth. Before I start throwing receipts.

Learn the CapCut system behind 300K+ followers across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Start creating videos that get views. Complete course, beginner to advanced. Mobile and PC. Viral effects. Storytelling. AI editing workflows. Monetization: creator programs and clients. Real earning examples. Bonus: 3,000+ anime and cinematic clips, HD wallpapers, no watermark, instant download. Weekly updates. Private community. Perfect if you’re starting from zero, or you have an account that nobody watches, or you want to get paid as an editor. Tired of random YouTube tutorials and a For You page that treats you like a ghost. Start today. Lock in $9 a month for life. Join before the price increases.

The graphics on that same about page go harder. “REAL PROFITS USING CAPCUT.” Badge: $200 – $2,500+ per video. CapCut Pioneer Program: “a chance to earn more than $20000!” Phone mockups dated May 2024: TikTok Creativity Program $2,500, Instagram Reels Play Bonus $800, PayPal affiliate $1,200. That’s their marketing. Not a census I ran. Those dates are from before this Skool existed.

I still export a Zoom recording and call it a vlog. You think I’m locking in $9 forever because a PNG said two grand a clip in a month this community hadn’t been born yet?

Read on for my CapCut Creator Bootcamp review.

What you’re actually clicking: a paid Skool at skool.com/capcutcreator. Live sticker August 15, 2026: $9/month. Live count: 1,101 / 1.1k. The “then $50 / 10 founding spots / lock in $9 forever” line is a moving member-count threat, documented at 190, then 300, then 1,000, now 1,100. Still $9 after they crossed the latest cliff. Cover art still says 400+. Not official CapCut. No standalone .com. No creator TOS found. Skool default: no refunds. I found no Reddit thread, no Trustpilot, no BBB, no YouTube review of this community, and no lawsuit. Do not confuse this with CapCut-the-app billing complaints.

Who even is Bryan Tiau?

Public name on Skool: Bryan Tiau. First and last on the account. The handle whispers a given name, Shuen. He does not use Shuen as the display name, so I’m not going to either.

Owned bio: “CapCut Creator | Turning edits into views & income / Helping you go from beginner to paid editor.” Self-reported. I am not in his CapCut drafts folder.

Skool account created January 13, 2026, 1:36 AM PT. Community created January 25, 2026, 10:06 PM PT. That’s official platform timestamps, not a “I live in New Zealand” bio. Timezone field: Pacific/Auckland. Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, location: blank. The only outbound site is the TikTok.

Profile stats the day I fetched this: 1,211 Skool followers, 13 following, 45 posts. Followers are not paying members.

He owns two groups. This one. And NextGen Creators, a free stub created August 4, 2026, 10:41 PM PT. Two members. No pitch. He has also joined other people’s rooms. Those are not his products.

There is a Bryan Tiau on LinkedIn who sells houses in Auckland for James Law Realty. Same name. Real-estate bio. No CapCut, no Skool, no Edie on that page that I found. Timezone match is suggestive. It is not a birth certificate. I am not merging a realtor into an editor because the clock said Auckland.

This is not CapCut

People are going to Google “CapCut review” and land here with a refund for the app in their teeth. Sit down. Different company.

CapCut the app is ByteDance. Trustpilot, BBB, “CapCut sued,” “CapCut charged me twice.” That’s the editor’s billing. Not this Skool. Official CapCut also runs a Template Creator program and an affiliate program. I found no public filing that ties Bryan’s bootcamp to either.

CapCut Mastery on Mobile is a different Skool (owner: Emre Can Tas). Creator Camp is a kids’ tech camp in Katy, Texas; that Trustpilot is theirs. AI Video Bootcamp is another Skool. It was #1 on Discover Trending the same day this one sat at #4, and it has its own Trustpilot. Don’t glue the trending card into one guru.

No standalone official website this pass. Public surfaces: the Skool, the profile, TikTok @edie.edit, and a Payhip under Edie Edit. That’s the whole porch.

Nine dollars. A fifty-dollar ghost.

The public sticker is $9 a month. Official about page. Official join button. displayPrice 900 USD cents, monthly. Discover Trending card, same day: $9/mo. One public membership SKU. Empty groupMembershipProducts list. No annual plan. No high-ticket call. No coaching application on the about page this pass.

Then the scarecrow.

“Only 10 Founding Member spots left at $9. Once we hit 1100 members, price increases to $50/month. Early members lock in $9 forever.”

Live count when I pulled the JSON: 1,101. About 2:51 PM PT, August 15, 2026. The page was still selling the 1,100 cliff. The price had not moved.

This is not a one-off typo. The trigger has a travel history.

Surface What it says Vibe
Live about / join $9/month. 10 founding spots. Hike to $50 at 1,100. “$9 forever.” Official, Aug 15
Live member count 1,101 exact. Card: 1.1k. Already over the 1,100 line. Official JSON
www3 cache $9. 120 founding spots. Hike at 1,000. 903 members. Older official
Skoolmakers $9, “no commitment.” Hike at 300. Directory, stale
SkoolRadar $9. Hike at 190. “6 spots left.” “Less than $0.30/day.” Directory, stale
Cover graphic Does not show $9. Shows “400+ CREATORS INSIDE.” Dated art
Payhip kit Viral Creator Kit, $9.99 one-time. Separate product. Edie Edit store

Fetched August 15, 2026. Product: skool.com/capcutcreator/about. Do not write “price is about to hit $50” as a fact. The cliff moved. The nine stayed.

So when the page says “10 founding spots left” after they already walked past 1,100, hear it the way you’d hear a mall kiosk yelling “last day” in March.

What’s inside

I did not buy it. About-page list, their classroom screenshot, platform counts. Not a logged-in audit.

Their bullets: beginner-to-advanced CapCut. Step-by-step, mobile and PC. Viral editing effects and storytelling. AI editing workflows. Get more views. Monetization (creator programs and clients). “Real earning examples.” Bonus clip pack. HD wallpapers. No watermark. Weekly updates. Private community.

The classroom grid they put on the about page, nine cards:

  1. Phase 1: Beginner Setup (mindset & introduction)
  2. Phase 2: CapCut Foundations
  3. Phase 3: Viral Editing
  4. Phase 4: Advanced Editing
  5. Phase 5: Social Media Editing (Reels, TikToks & Shorts)
  6. Phase 6: AI & Faceless
  7. Phase 7: Monetization
  8. Earn Affiliate Commissions (50%)
  9. Editing Clips Library

Live Skool metadata, August 15, 2026: 20 courses, 153 modules, 150 posts. Older caches said 18 courses. Titles past those nine cards are behind the paywall. Also: 2 admins, 3 rules, 33 online at fetch. Classroom on. Calendar off. Private.

Not independently verified: weekly updates, the “3000+” clip count, “no watermark,” or Skoolmakers’ post/response/event stats. Directory math. Not a student diary.

The money pictures are older than the school

This is the part where a $9 room starts talking like a $2,000 mentorship. Same about page: “See How Much Creators Are Earning,” the $200–$2,500+ badge, Pioneer Program “a chance to earn more than $20000,” and phone mockups under “TURN VIEWS INTO INCOME.”

The dates on those phones:

  • TikTok Creativity Program: $2,500, May 30, 2024
  • Instagram Reels Play Bonus: $800, May 25, 2024
  • PayPal affiliate: $1,200, May 28, 2024

This Skool opened in January 2026. Those screenshots are from a different year. Marketing, not Bootcamp student results, not audited. The list under them is the usual buffet: Creativity Program, YouTube Partner, Instagram bonuses, affiliates, digital products, brand deals. Anyone with a CapCut install has seen that menu.

The 300K+ follower line is the same flavor. About page: “the CapCut system behind 300K+ followers across TikTok, YouTube & Instagram.” Skool’s YouTube and Instagram fields are empty. TikTok bio, via Toklytics: “200k Collabs.” Toklytics’ follower field was broken this pass (showed 0). What it did count: 24 tracked videos, 19.3M views, 1.4M likes, 83.5K shares, a 4.9M peak on April 23, 2026. That’s a view pile. Not a follower census, and not “300K+ across three apps” with two apps missing from the profile. Self-reported. Go look at your last Reel and decide how much of that you want to buy.

The other $9s on the porch

Off to the side, not linked from the Skool about page, sits payhip.com/EdieEdit. Brand name matches the TikTok. Store tagline: “CapCut tutorials & editing resources for creators.” Visible this pass:

  • CapCut Viral Creator Kit: $9.99 one-time
  • Get CapCut Pro for ONLY $9.99/month (Save Big): $9.99, which reads as a CapCut Pro promo / affiliate, not the Skool

A different Payhip PDF called “Capcut Editing Guide” (£12) is not on this storefront. Don’t pin it on Edie.

Inside the classroom screenshot: AFFILIATE PROGRAM / EARN 50% AFFILIATE COMMISSIONS. Matches Skool’s native aflPercent: 50. That’s “refer the Skool,” not a second tuition, and not a payout audit. Official marketing image.

NextGen Creators: free, two humans, stub. Created August 4, 2026 PT, eleven days before this fetch. If someone tells you there’s a hidden $8k backend, I did not find the door. The gap is proof and pressure. Not a secret call.

Refunds, reviews, and the empty comment section

No community-specific refund sentence on the about page. No 30-day. No money-back.

Skool’s own legal page, fetched the same day: subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. No refunds for partial billing periods unless a promo says otherwise. “Skool’s policy is to not provide refunds. Skool lets Creators offer refunds to Members at their discretion.” In most cases Skool will not refund on behalf of creators. Cancel in the memberships tab, or ping an admin, or email help@skool.com. You keep access through the end of the period you paid for. That’s skool.com/legal, not a Tiau TOS. I didn’t find a Tiau TOS.

Independent reviews of this community, August 15, 2026: no Reddit threads, no Trustpilot, no BBB, no YouTube review. Skool’s own reviews widget was null. Hits you’ll find are CapCut the app, AI Video Bootcamp, or the kids’ camp. Skoolmakers printed a 4.1/5 and a generic “solid premium community” blurb. That’s a directory score with unpublished math, not a student pile. NextStair (unclaimed, added July 2026) even notes the monetization claims do not guarantee income and CapCut features change fast.

Lawsuits, FTC, BBB complaints, news: none found this pass for CapCut Creator Bootcamp, Bryan Tiau, Shuen Tiau, Edie Edit, or the Skool URL. I am not importing CapCut-app billing rage so this feels like a courtroom show. “None found this pass” is not “clean forever.”

Who this is for (and who should skip)

This is for you if:

  • You already wanted CapCut tutorials and $9 beats YouTube autoplay
  • You can cancel a Skool sub without calling your mom
  • You understand “300K+ followers” and “$2,500 a video” are their graphics, not your June
  • You will not treat a moving $50 cliff like a fire alarm

Skip if:

  • You thought this was official CapCut, CapCut Mastery on Mobile, Creator Camp, or AI Video Bootcamp
  • You need a refund window that isn’t “Skool’s default is no”
  • You joined because there were “10 founding spots left” after they already crossed 1,100
  • You need student reviews or a Trustpilot before you swipe. Those are not here.

Verdict?

Bryan Tiau is a real Skool owner with a real TikTok brand and a real $9 classroom that did not exist in 2025. The edits-to-income pitch is the oldest sentence in short-form. The 20-course pile might be useful if you actually open it. I wouldn’t know. I didn’t log in.

The $9 is cheap. The $50 is a scarecrow that keeps getting a new address. The cover still says 400+ while a thousand people are already in the room. The payout phones are from May 2024. The 300K is a cross-platform claim with two empty social fields. There is no independent review corpus. There is no creator refund page. There is no lawsuit I could find, and “no lawsuit” is not a standing ovation.

Not a fake company. Nine bucks to peek is a coffee. Nine bucks because “10 spots left” at a number they already passed is you talking yourself into a countdown. Don’t.

Six out of ten if you wanted the tutorials and can cancel. Four if the founding-price theater is why you came.

Q&A

Q: Is CapCut Creator Bootcamp official CapCut?
A: No. ByteDance did not open this. Official CapCut has its own template-creator and affiliate pages. This is a third-party Skool from Bryan Tiau / @edie.edit. The title is wearing a borrowed jersey. Take it off.

Q: Wait. CapCut Mastery on Mobile?
A: Different room. Owner Emre Can Tas. Wrong guy. If that’s the tab you wanted, this is not your kitchen.

Q: Creator Camp? The one with Trustpilot?
A: Kids’ tech camp. Katy, Texas. creatorcamp.org. If a parent-teacher conference sent you, I cannot help your summer schedule.

Q: AI Video Bootcamp?
A: Also not this. Separate Skool. It was trending #1 the same day this one was #4. It has its own Trustpilot. Same three nouns in the vibe. Different owner.

Q: Is CapCut Creator Bootcamp a scam?
A: I didn’t find a regulator hammer, a lawsuit, a Trustpilot, a BBB file, or a Reddit thread. I found a cheap public price, a moving $50 threat, unaudited earning graphics from before the Skool existed, and a cover that still says 400+. “Oversells the urgency, maybe useful if you already wanted CapCut tutorials” is not the same sentence as “fake company.”

Q: How much does it cost?
A: $9/month on the live official about page, August 15, 2026. Confirm on the cart you actually see. The $50 line is their scarcity copy, not a price I watched go live.

Q: Why does the $50 keep moving?
A: Because the member-count trigger is the product. Documented cliffs: 190 (SkoolRadar), 300 (Skoolmakers), 1,000 (www3 cache), 1,100 (live about, Aug 15). Live count was already 1,101 when the page still said “once we hit 1100.” I’ve seen “limited time” banners at a mattress outlet with a more stable identity.

Q: Who is Bryan Tiau?
A: Skool owner of record. Display name Bryan Tiau. Handle @shuen-tiau-6476. Brand / TikTok @edie.edit. Bio: CapCut creator, edits into views and income, beginner to paid editor. Account January 13, 2026. Community January 26, 2026 UTC. Timezone field Pacific/Auckland. No .com. That’s the public file.

Q: Is Edie a different person?
A: The Skool website field is only TikTok @edie.edit, display name Edie. Toklytics scrape of that bio has the collab gmail. I did not find a second founder. Treat Edie as the creator brand on the same porch until a primary source splits them.

Q: Is he the Auckland realtor?
A: There is a Bryan Tiau at James Law Realty / LinkedIn bryan-tiau-38a409266. Same name. Real-estate bio. No CapCut, Skool, or Edie mention I found. Timezone match is not identity. I am not doing same-name fan fiction.

Q: Bryan Tiau net worth?
A: Anybody quoting a clean number is doing fan fiction. 1,101 members at $9 is a ceiling, not a take-home, and Skool followers are not paying members. I still lose receipts in my camera roll. You think I’m opening his Stripe?

Q: What’s actually inside?
A: Their public list plus a nine-card classroom screenshot: seven phases (setup through monetization), a 50% affiliate card, a clips library. Live metadata: 20 courses, 153 modules, 150 posts, August 15, 2026. I did not log in. I am not handing out gold stars from the about page.

Q: Refund?
A: No creator-specific policy found. Skool default: no refunds, cancel anytime, access through the period you paid for, creator may refund at discretion. “No commitment” on Skoolmakers is a directory adjective, not a money-back promise.

Q: Did he really do 300K+ followers?
A: That’s the about-page line, cross-platform (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram). YouTube and Instagram fields on Skool are empty. TikTok bio says “200k Collabs.” Toklytics follower field was broken this pass. The view counts on 24 tracked videos are large. Follower census: not independently verified.

Q: $200 to $2,500+ per video. $20k Pioneer. Are those student results?
A: Those are landing-page graphics. Self-reported / marketing. The phone mockups are dated May 2024. The Skool opened January 2026. Do not treat them as Bootcamp outcomes. I did not audit anyone’s Creativity Program dashboard.

Q: Reddit? Trustpilot? BBB? YouTube reviews?
A: Not found this pass for this community. I’m not going to invent a Reddit uncle so this section has a mascot. Skoolmakers 4.1 is a directory score. If a thread shows up after this, that’s news. It isn’t here today.

Q: Any lawsuits?
A: None found this pass. Do not borrow CapCut-the-app billing complaints or “CapCut needs to be sued” posts. Different company. Different invoice.

Q: What else does he sell?
A: Payhip Edie Edit: Viral Creator Kit $9.99, plus a CapCut Pro $9.99/month promo. Not linked from the Skool about page. NextGen Creators: free, 2 members, stub. 50% member-affiliate is Skool-native referral, not a second tuition. No high-ticket call found this pass.

Q: How many members?
A: 1,101 official on August 15, 2026. Card says 1.1k. Older souvenirs: 903, 670, 508, 330, 184, and a cover that still says 400+. Date every figure. They move. The art doesn’t.

Q: Can I cancel?
A: Yes, per Skool help (article updated May 13, 2026). Memberships tab, or admin chat, or help@skool.com. Access through the end of the paid period. Auto-renew until you do it. The “$9 forever” line is their marketing. Cancel and you’re back on whatever price they feel like charging next time.

Q: How do I stalk him like a normal person?
A: Skool profile @shuen-tiau-6476. Community skool.com/capcutcreator. TikTok @edie.edit. Payhip payhip.com/EdieEdit. Don’t camp the dotted-ı inbox. Join like an adult or don’t.

Q: Who should not buy this?
A: Anyone who thought $9 was ByteDance. Anyone who needs a refund window. Anyone who will treat the $50 countdown like a smoke alarm. Anyone who needs a student-review pile that does not exist yet. Anyone who is actually looking for CapCut-the-app support and ended up in a Skool by accident.

Q: Okay but I still wanna make money online without paying a Skool to teach me an app I can already download, then watching the $50 cliff jog away from me.
A: Wild concept: build little local websites, rank them in Google, and rent the leads to real businesses. No “10 founding spots.” No May 2024 payout PNG. No cover that can’t count past 400.

It’s about as sexy as organizing the junk drawer… which is why filthy SEO goblins like me keep doing it.

If that quieter path sounds less insane than locking in nine dollars because a member counter might someday become $50, start at unemployable.org.
