Tom Luong will sit you in front of eight monitors and smile like the candlesticks are family photos.
Tim will tell you Echo Mapping spots winners before they blast off. The homepage will hand you a student who made a thousand dollars a day “like within weeks.”
Their own footer, same page: those results are NOT TYPICAL. You should not expect the same.
I still lose a twenty in the couch and call it a market event. You think I’m Echo Mapping Nvidia before lunch?
Read on for my Tim and Tom Luong / Stock Navigators review.
Here’s the pitch. In their mouth. Before receipts.
Dad flees Vietnam with nothing. Learns English. Becomes a systems engineer. Buys tech. Loses about a million in the 2000 crash — half his life savings, they say, after trusting advisors. Spends 130k teaching himself. Invents Echo Mapping. Trades less than three hours a day. Makes over a million a year. Teaches the kids.
Tim, UCLA econ, “not good at math,” walks away from a Wall Street job, studies under Tom for three months, prints multi-six figures in the markets. They put on an in-person workshop. Five people show. They lose money. Tom realizes helping feels good. Blah blah blah. Now it’s an Inc. 5000 education company in Miami Beach and the flagship login is a one-year mentorship they still won’t price on the homepage.
Old way: buy Apple, hold for decades, die waiting. S&P 500? Too slow. Cathie Wood? Don’t. Meme coins? Please. New way: one strategy, all markets, 25 years of experience, no background needed, three hours a day, any market condition.
Said every trading guru since the invention of the green candle. Right?
Got it? Good.
Who even are the Luongs?
Tom is the dad with the glasses and the fortress of Dell monitors. About page: escaped Vietnam with nothing, lost a million in 2000, invented his own strategy, taught the children, founded Stock Navigators, 10,000 students to “financial independence,” 25+ years, 7-figure trader, leads daily live sessions. Older Money Zone copy had him averaging 100k a month in Q1 2021 and sitting in the “top 1% of traders.” That’s their bio. That’s not a brokerage statement I pulled.
Tim is the son with the Champion hoodie and the laptop, Freedom Tower out the window like a motivational poster that pays rent. CEO. UCLA economics. The Org says founder/CEO since 2018, Miami. The origin tape says he bailed on Wall Street after watching Tom cook. Pitch: first student, multi-six in the markets, “we’ve helped thousands.” He’s also the one who, in his own brags, has talked about 50 million selling digital products by 30 and courses doing another 15 million a year — Miami Beach house, mom retired, courtside next to Jake Paul. I’m repeating his mouth. I am not in his Schwab. And I’m not going to pretend a digital-product number and a trading number are the same sport.
Sister’s in it too. Tiffany Luong, Head of Talent Acquisition, shows up in the ads. Three Luongs, one funnel. When’s mom making her cameo?
Instructors on the 2026 about page: Cleve (Navy veteran, auto-industry escapee, four-plus years trading, Tom’s mentee, trend/momentum/volume/volatility) and Vu Nguyen (ex-chemical engineer, joined 2019, left the lab to trade full-time). The site says Vu was the first student to surpass 1,000,000 in trading profits. Their sentence. Their student. Not a CFA letter.

What Stock Navigators actually is
Not a hedge fund. Not a signal room with a published win rate. Not your broker. A 2021 student writeup said it out loud and I still like the sentence: they are not a registered investment advisor. They teach a method. You click the buttons. You eat the losses.
Flagship on the site I fetched (July 2026 Framer stamp): Expert Trader, “a 1-year mentorship program.”
- 7-week Expert Trader course
- Daily live coaching Monday–Thursday, two hours a session
- Daily live trading rooms when the market is open
- Weekly coaching and performance reviews
- Private community to share trades, ideas, results
CTA is “Watch Free Training,” which dumps you onto a VSL about making money in three hours a day in any market. Echo Mapping has its own video page. Money Zone Method is still the 97-dollar snack — three-hour video, Tom’s swing-trade entries-and-exits, the sampler platter before the entrée.
Echo Mapping, in English: they never really explain it on the public pages. Trends inside trends. Timeframes. Confirmations. Higher highs, lower lows. Works on stocks, options, crypto. Day or swing. When Tim starts doing it on a webinar, my brain turns to tapioca. Hard to believe the average person with zero screen time learns “true wealth” in a few hours a week. That’s the claim. I’m the person who still uses a calculator for tip math.
Then the upsell attic, from the last time I went through this: Active Trader (recurring, Vu on the daily, momentum scalping), Algotrend (their “proprietary” AI — or a white-label that couldn’t out-trade a Magic 8-Ball; I don’t have a packet capture), and an Annual Summit at 1,000–2,000 after you’ve already paid for coaching. The Luongs will not stop until Chase texts you “you good?”
The income claims, with the volume down
I need you to hear this part slowly, because trading reviews go stupid when we don’t.
I do not have a Stock Navigators win rate. They do not publish one I can audit. I am not going to invent 68% or 81% or “most students profit by week six” so this article feels finished. If somebody quotes a clean win rate, ask whose account, what size, what year, and whether the losers left the Discord.
What they do publish is a testimonial wall and a footer that contradicts the wall on purpose.
| Claim you’ll hear | What it actually is |
|---|---|
| Fred: 1,000 a day “within weeks” | Homepage testimonial. Footer: NOT TYPICAL. Not a class average. |
| Lisa: account +29% | Same wall. No starting balance, no time frame I can verify, no drawdown. |
| JP: 6 funded evals, 300k capital | Prop-firm evaluations. Passing an eval is not a W-2. Also a testimonial. |
| Tom: 7-figure trader / 1M+ a year / 100k/mo in Q1 2021 | About page + old sales copy. Self-reported. Not a 10-K. |
| Vu: first student past 1M in trading profits | Instructor bio on their site. Their student. Their number. |
| Tim: multi-six trading / 50M in digital products | Pitch + his own brags. Two different businesses. Don’t mash them. |
| 10,000 students to financial independence | About page. “Independence” is doing a lot of work in that sentence. |
Homepage + about fetched August 2026. Footer on stocknavigators.com says past results are not typical and you should not expect the same.
Several studies have shown that roughly 80–90% of short-term traders lose money over time. That’s the industry weather report, not a Stock Navigators FOIA. How different is that from a casino, where playing long enough is how the house takes the cash? Tom’s got a compelling story. Tim seems like a solid salesman. I need better odds and more control than “trust the U-shape, ignore the footer.”
Inc. 5000 is real, by the way. 2024: No. 1,593, 326% growth. 2025: No. 3,291, still 120% over three years. Education company. Miami Beach. Tim on the leadership line. That means the course business grew. It does not mean Echo Mapping beats the S&P. I bet Tom’s proud in a Maserati while you cry into a pint of Häagen-Dazs. Those can both happen.

Price (yes, they still hide the entrée)
Money Zone: about 97. That’s the one number they don’t mind putting near a button.
Expert Trader: not on the homepage I fetched. Last time I verified it, February 2026, it was 7,800. WallStreetZen in June 2026 still said 4,500–7,800. Trustpilot people talk 6k–8k. One complaint I saved: dad paid 6,800, regretted it days later, spent a year fighting. Another: almost 8k, basic info you can find free, Zooms useless, access gone after a year unless you pay again. Another: Upgrade loan, still paying it off, prop firm, no payout yet.
Prefer the last number I actually verified — 7,800 — and assume the closer in your inbox might quote something in that band. Then screenshot the refund paragraph. Then ask what happens to the community login on day 366. Mark G already told you: it gets stripped.
Glassdoor, last I checked the pile: 4.5 after 17 reviews, 90% would recommend, main con was commission-based job security. That’s employees. That’s the sales floor. Of course they like the product. They’re paid to like the product.
Trustpilot / site badge: about 4.7 on a few hundred reviews. Lots of “coaches are patient, community is kind.” Also: overpriced, not 1-on-1 like the call implied, recorded without permission, mentor quit. I’m not calling the whole pile fake. I’m saying a 4.7 and a 7,800 invoice can live in the same house.
No FTC case. No SEC case. Found none in this pass. Don’t invent a courtroom so a trading course feels like Wolf of Wall Street.
Who this is for (and who should skip)
This is for you if:
- You already wanted to learn screen-reading / price action from a specific family method and you can stand hours of live rooms
- You understand 1,000-a-day and 29% are testimonials sitting on top of a NOT TYPICAL footer
- 7,800 (or whatever they quote you) is money you can lose before you lose more in the market
- You wanted a year of structure more than a 97 YouTube-shaped snack
Skip if:
- You thought this was a signal service with a win rate and a “we click for you”
- You need the rent money to stay the rent money
- You wanted buy-and-hold and they talked you into day-trading futures with Vu
- You were about to put the tuition on an Upgrade loan because a closer said you’d make it back
Verdict?
Stock Navigators is a real education company. Tom is a real person with a real immigrant-to-monitors story. Tim is a real CEO of an Inc. 5000 course shop. Vu and Cleve are real names on an about page. The 7-week-plus-live-rooms product is a real thing people pay real money for. None of that makes Echo Mapping a money printer, and none of it makes “10,000 students to financial independence” a census.
In 2021 I called this the least slimy trading pitch I’d seen — family shop, no cartoon Lambos in the first five minutes. The 2026 site still has the family. It also has a thousand-dollars-a-day quote on the same URL as a legal footer screaming NOT TYPICAL. That’s growth. That’s also the job.
Not a scam per se. Not a published win rate. Useful if you already wanted to sit in front of charts for a year and you can afford the tuition and the drawdowns. If you thought three hours a day and a 97 video would retire your mom, sit down. That’s Tim’s story. The footer is yours.
I’m good.
Q&A
Q: Is Stock Navigators legit?
A: Real Florida company. Real Inc. 5000 listing. Real about-page instructors. Real 4.7-shaped review pile. “Legit school that oversells the candles” is not the same as “fake broker.” Don’t flatten those.
Q: Is it a scam?
A: I didn’t find an FTC or SEC hammer. I found testimonials, a NOT TYPICAL footer, a hidden entrée price, access-after-a-year complaints, and a strategy they won’t explain on the public page. Oversell ≠ empty warehouse.
Q: How much does Stock Navigators cost?
A: Money Zone: about 97. Expert Trader: not on the homepage. Last I verified (Feb 2026): 7,800. Other 2026 writeups: 4,500–7,800. Confirm on the call. Ask about year-two access, Active Trader, Algotrend, and the summit tickets they sell you after you’re already in.
Q: What’s Echo Mapping?
A: Tom’s named strategy. Entries, exits, “trends within trends.” They say it works on stocks, options, crypto, day or swing. They do not publish a ruleset I can grade. When the webinar gets going, it’s candlestick church. I am not baptizing you.
Q: What’s the Money Zone Method?
A: The 97-dollar, ~three-hour snack. Tom’s swing-trade favorite, packaged so you’ll smell the 7,800 entrée. Fine as a preview. Not a career.
Q: What’s Expert Trader now?
A: On the 2026 site: a 1-year mentorship. 7-week course, daily live Mon–Thu (two hours), live rooms, weekly reviews, private community. That’s more “sit with us for a year” than “watch 12 modules and ascend.”
Q: Did they publish a win rate?
A: Not one I can audit. Don’t let a closer invent one for you either. The closest thing on the homepage is a row of testimonials and a footer that says those results are not typical. Believe the footer.
Q: Tom Luong net worth? Tim Luong net worth?
A: Tom: 7-figure trader on the about page, 1M+/year in the pitch, 100k/mo in an old Q1 2021 line. Tim: multi-six trading in the VSL; 50M digital products by 30 in his own brags. Anybody flattening that into one clean NW is LARPing. This is me glaring at you from across the street, then vanishing when a bus passes.
Q: Wait, they dragged the daughter in too?
A: Yup. Tiffany, Head of Talent Acquisition. She’s in the ads. I wasn’t prepared for three Luongs in one funnel.
Q: Inc. 5000 — so the trading works?
A: Inc. 5000 measures company revenue growth. 2024 rank 1,593 (326%). 2025 rank 3,291 (120% over three years). That means the education business grew. It does not mean your paper-trading account is about to buy a boat.
Q: What’s Algotrend?
A: Their “proprietary” AI for ragdolling the market. Or some white-labeled software that couldn’t out-trade a Magic 8-Ball. I don’t have their code. I have a marketing noun.
Q: Active Trader?
A: Recurring upsell. Daily live streams. Vu. Momentum scalping. The thing you discover after 7,800 has already left the building.
Q: Contact / address?
A: Support@StockNavigators.com. (408) 759-1957. Stock Navigators, Inc., 4450 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33140. Don’t Baby Reindeer them. Email like an adult.
Q: Course download? App?
A: I’m sorry you perpetually disappoint your father, but it’s not okay to steal. And no, no app. That might cut into the margins, and we can’t have that.
Q: Sophie Howard Freedom Navigator — is that this?
A: No. Different “Navigator.” Different country. Different product. If a 2022 page about a 197 workshop is in your tabs, close it. You’re in the 7,800 building now.
Q: Have you ever paid for trading advice or stock picks?
A: God no. Show me a billionaire who made the fortune drawing squiggly lines on the one-hour chart and then decided the real edge was a webinar. Trading gurus are fortune tellers with a darker TradingView theme.
Q: Who should not buy this?
A: Anyone financing tuition on a hope. Anyone who heard “1,000 a day” and skipped the footer. Anyone who wanted a win rate. Anyone who cannot afford to lose the course and the trades. If you have a job you like and a 401(k) that isn’t on fire, you do not need Echo Mapping to feel whole.
Q: Okay but I still wanna make money without sitting through three hours of broken-English chart church every morning.
A: Wild concept: build little local websites, rank them in Google, and rent the leads to real businesses. No funded-eval cosplay. No 29% without a denominator. No “NOT TYPICAL” in 8-point font.
It’s about as thrilling as a monthly close… which is why filthy SEO goblins like me keep doing it.
If that quieter path sounds less insane than a 7,800 mentorship with a footer that already told on itself, start at unemployable.org.
